Only What You Do For Christ Will Last
(written by Raymond Rasberry)

You may build great cathedrals large or small,
you can build skyscrapers grand and tall,
you may conquer all the failures of the past,
but only what you do for Christ will last.

Remember only what You do for Christ will last.
Remember only what you do for Christ will last,
only what you do for Him will be counted at the end;
only what you do for Christ will last.

You may seek earthly power and fame,
the world might be impressed by your great name,
soon the glories of this life will all be past,
but only what you do for Christ will last.

Only What you Do For Christ Will Last

Raising missionary support for the guevarra family

On July 31, 2015, Ferdinand Guevarra along with his young family, wife Jennifer Holland and their children Gabriel and Madeleine, moved across the ocean from Washington DC to Hilversum, the media capital of the Netherlands.  In obedience to the calling of the Holy Spirit, they sold everything and left behind their comfortable life and successful careers to pursue a vision that God birthed in their hearts to reach the country of the Netherlands through Christian radio.  The product of that dream is 100 Percent Grace Inc., an IRS approved, not-for-profit organization. In May of 2014, 100%GRACE Radio was launched at 100pgrace.fm, iTunes, TuneIn and other radio websites, complete with Dutch DJ, Christian music, preachings, and inspirational messages. In 2015, Google Inc. granted 100 Percent Grace Inc. $10,000 worth of Google AdWords advertisements per month. Almost two years since it’s inauguration, this commercial free internet radio station has become a successful ministry with hundreds of thousands of people listening throughout the world!

While the radio has turned into a Global outreach, their heart’s desire to reach the lost people in the Netherlands has grown exponentially. In 2013, while serving at Lifepoint Church in Fredericksburg, Virginia, through a series of God-orchestrated events, they connected with Pastor Sebastiaan Van Wessem, the visionary behind ARC Nederlands and the pastor of Thousand Hills International Church in Hilversum. Ferdinand and Jennifer have been blessed with the opportunity to support the launch of Thousand Hills Huizen, their first satellite campus. They now play an active role being part of the staff and dream team at Thousand Hills International Church. They have and will continue to further God’s kingdom by assisting with the IT, Creative Arts, and Events planning needs of Thousand Hills International Church.

The Netherlands is a country that is known for its perversion and liberality.  There is a need for revival in this land through the message of the redemptive love of Jesus.  The percentage of spirit-filled Christians has declined to its lowest in history; while atheism and agnosticism are common, Islam is now on the rise as the predominant religion.  The gospel is dying with the elderly and the good news is not being passed down and introduced to the younger generations.  Disinterest amongst the millennial youth is one of the primary reasons for the decline in Christianity.  That is why it is so important to reach these younger generations with the timeless message of Jesus communicated to them innovatively through media and technology.

That is where Ferdinand and Jennifer are allowing themselves to be used as vessels by the Lord to bring their experience and expertise from America to the Netherlands to help to bridge the generational gap. God has recently placed it on their hearts to originate “Kingdom Projects”, a missional outreach geared towards growing God’s churches in the 21st century.  The vision for Kingdom Projects is to accelerate local church growth by coming alongside of newly planted church campuses and assisting them with building powerful worship and enjoyable Sunday service experiences.  It’s future projects will bring the modern logistics found at multisite churches in America and replicate them here in Europe. Kingdom Projects will individualize a comprehensive toolkit to meet the specific needs of a brand new church launch, a new satellite campus location, and/or a current church needing an ‘Extreme Makeover – church edition’. Kingdom Projects will utilize short term missions teams of specially trained, multimedia experts from large multisite church partners in the U.S. to feed into newly planted churches or satellite campuses here in The Netherlands, and eventually in all of Europe. With engineering and creativity, they will offer guidance and assistance with utilizing modern day technology to enhance the multimedia church experience through video, acoustics, stage, design and environment while maintaining the church’s identity and DNA.

A message from Ferdinand and Jennifer…

We thank you for taking the time to read about the passions that God has placed in our hearts.  We are asking for you to come alongside of us as a mobility partner for God’s vision.  We have thrown ourselves whole-heartedly into God’s Kingdom; which means quitting our jobs and not allowing other jobs and distractions to take away from the time we spend carrying out this task. We have personally invested heavily in following the calling of the Lord. We have taken bold steps of obedience that required an unshakeable faith to stretch us beyond our comfort zone into an area of full reliance on God.  It is a humbling step to ask and allow you to minister to us by providing financial support through investing in the Kingdom of God.  This is a huge leap of faith and a completely new experience for us, having previously been accustomed to receiving a competitive salary from employment at one of Wall Street’s top 500 companies.  We now stand strong as we claim God’s promises and trust in His provision.  Please pray earnestly about your role in supporting us financially.  When you give, you become a key player and a vital part of the mission to reach the lost and grow the Kingdom of God. Please visit the “Invest” page at www.100pgrace.fm to make your one-time donation or a scheduled monthly reoccurring donation. All donations in the United States are tax deductible with a return receipt.  We thank you in advance for seeing our need, and meeting our need, as we follow God and reach the whole of the Netherlands with the gospel through 100%GRACE radio and Kingdom Projects!  God is building a foundation of laborers for the works He has planned for the future of the Netherlands, and we are so honored to be chosen by Him to carry out His works.  The Best is Yet to Come!!!

Giving to the cause of the gospel is a way to store treasures in heaven that will never fade or fail (Matthew 6:20).  There is great reward in investing in the things that have eternal yield. A temporal inheritance can be squandered but an eternal inheritance is a reward that never goes away.

God birthed a dream

28/7/2015

A year ago in May God birthed a dream in our hearts to reach the Netherlands with the gospel, love and grace of Jesus through Christian radio.

We fell in love with Holland back in 2010 when we moved there for a one year contract with Ferdinand's job. Little did we know at the time that God was preparing the soil of our hearts and planting a seed to carry out a greater purpose for this country. For those who might not know anything about The Netherlands (also referred to as Holland) think of Amsterdam, the nations capital. It is a modern day Sodom and Gomorrah with street level brothels in the Red Light District and hashish cafes on every corner. It has become a calloused society and tolerant of every extravagant lifestyle choice.  The percentage of Christians has declined to its lowest in history with less than 1% of the population proclaiming Jesus as their personal savior.  One of the main reasons for the decline in Christianity is disinterest amongst the younger generations and a feeling that religion is a personal decision and beliefs are not to be discussed or projected onto others. Most of the country defines themselves as atheist or agnostic and Islam is now on the rise as the predominant "religion" with 6-8% claiming to be devout Muslims.

A year ago while on a return trip to visit friends in Holland, we were riding in the car with our two young children and appalled as we listened to the uncensored radio with vulgar songs promoting sex and drugs and every other unimaginable that you wouldn't want your young child exposed to - yet this is acceptable in the Dutch culture.  We came home from that trip and immediately followed the leading of the Holy Spirit to start an online Christian radio station called 100% Grace Radio, complete with Dutch DJ, Christian music (including Lifepoint Worship!), preachings and inspirational messages.  A year later this radio station has become a global outreach with hundreds of thousands of people listening throughout the world!

While the radio has turned into a Global outreach, we still have a heart to reach the Dutch people. Through a series of God orchestrated events we have connected with a sister ARC church in Holland, Thousand Hills International Church. We were blessed with the opportunity to help them launch their first satellite campus and now we will play an active role serving the church. Ferdinand will be updating their IT infrastructure to support simulcast and web streaming.  He will also be creating and launching the website for ARC Nederlands to help connect the local churches to be more unified and effective together and to reach more people through shared resources, support and encouragement.  Jennifer will be helping with event planning and the English speaking women's ministry.

Being missionaries in Europe is a hard concept for people to grasp. We aren't moving to an impoverished country to meet basic needs of food, water, clothing or shelter. It sounds glamorous, and while we will surely enjoy the beauty of the country, the people there need Jesus now more than ever. How much harder is it for a rich man to enter the kingdom of Heaven?  They don't think they need God. These are the people we are trying to reach!

Throughout this journey our prayer has been for open AND closed doors to guide us in His will to fulfill His FULL purpose through us.  Often times we have been required to FIRST take the step of faith BEFORE we can see the blessing on the other side.  With every open door our default answer has always been "Yes".  When the Holy Spirit tells you to go, you go.  You move forward through open doors in steps of obedience that require a faith that stretches you beyond your comfort zone into an area of full reliance on God. This is where the good stuff happens.  The growing pains.  God uses these moments of surrender to grow us in faith and trust and hope and patience and whatever area of your life that needs to be refined so that you can be mature and ready to for the next step that He has for you!

People say they want to be used by God, but I have learned throughout this journey that allowing yourself to be used by God requires you to take risks.  If you are living life in such a way to arrive safely at death, can I suggest that God is not a God who uses those that are complacent and comfortable. He likes to use those that will do things beyond what is humanly possible in a way that can only bring glory to His name.

The Story.  The Mission.

Everyone wants to know the will of God for their life.  Their purpose.  Their calling.  As Christians, this is something that we pray for, yearn for, and seek.  But what do we actually do with that information when it is placed in our laps?  Furthermore, when armed with God-given instructions, is our heart ready and willing to take on a task that might possibly require a huge sacrifice and a step/leap/cliff-dive of faith?

Recently, I found myself praying that very prayer.  “Lord, show me your will.  Lord, guide my footsteps along a path that is pleasing to you. “ I’m not sure what I expected God’s will for my life to be: …a good wife and mother…maybe to make it to the grocery store and back home without yelling at my kids and cutting off other cars on the road while sporting my church decal on my bumper…but, I certainly did not expect to hear God say to me, “Go to Holland and spread the Good News”.  What?  ME?  I am not a preacher.  I went to a Christian College but I am certainly not equipped for this job.  “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.” John 14:12-14.

I remember telling my small group one evening that we felt like we were being called to the Netherlands as missionaries.  I was asking for prayers for clarity.  Like I said, I do not have a degree in theology so I didn’t think we were being asked to preach.  And, in Holland, it’s not as if there is a need for clean drinking water, or starving families to feed, or orphans to parent.  It became very apparent to me that this was going to be a very unique mission.  The Netherlands is one of the wealthiest countries in the world.  The Dutch people are known for being very liberal, tolerant of controversial behaviors, stubborn, well educated, innovative and independent.  I suppose if it were an easy task, there wouldn’t be such a great need!!!

“See a Need, Meet a Need” is a slogan that my church coined for service projects being done in the community. It is so much more than a #hashtag, it is a lifestyle. Most people would see this as ministering and showing God’s love by meeting physical needs. But the phrase struck a chord with me. The Netherlands has a NEED for the message of Jesus to be spread. The gospel is dying with the elderly and the good news is not being passed down and introduced to the younger generations. My husband and I were very clearly given a vision from God to meet that need through music. Contemporary, Christian, life-giving music that encourages, inspires and connects listeners to local churches and resources to help grow their faith. God has chosen us to bring the gospel to the Dutch people through Christian Radio. And when God gives you instructions, you don’t say no. Within 3 weeks of having this vision, we had the radio station up and running online and available via iTunes and TuneIn Radio. The radio was launched in May of 2014 and we now have 7,000+ listeners worldwide tuning in daily online and 14,000 people following us on twitter. God blesses those who are faithful. “So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11.

In the upcoming months, we are planning to sell everything and move to the Netherlands to broadcast this radio station on the FM. My husband is very spontaneous and I am very type-A.  Looking back on the past few months, I will confess that there have been some hiccups on my end that have caused my spirit to grow leaps and bounds as I press deeper into God and trust in Him during this adventure.  My vision verse has been, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6.  But I do have to laugh at God’s sense of humor.  As if he already knew that I would need a little extra nudge to know and trust we were doing His will.  You know the verse Jeremiah 1:5, “Before I shaped you in the womb, I knew all about you.
Before you saw the light of day, I had holy plans for you:
A prophet to the nations— that’s what I had in mind for you.”  Well that verse has taken on such a deeper meaning for me.  Listen to how cool this is…all the while keeping in mind that I am not Dutch and we have no family or connections there.

  • My last name is Holland.  I mean seriously, God had plans to send me to Holland to spread His word BEFORE I was in my mother’s womb!  He put me in a family named Holland.  LOL.
  • I originally went to Gordon College as a pre-med student but when I decided to change my major to nursing I needed to transfer to a school with a nursing program.  Through a series of events, I chose Hope College, which just so happens to be in Holland, Michigan, and their mascot is the Fighting Dutchmen.
  • Lastly, my husband’s job transferred us overseas to Europe.  We were all set and ready to live in Brussels, Belgium, when two weeks before moving to Europe, our destination was changed to Breda, Holland.  And from that moment we completely fell in love with the country and the people.
That is God orchestrating His plan.  Right. There!
We ask that you come alongside us and support us as we carry out God’s mission.  This is a leap of faith and we need your fervent prayers.  We have also decided to throw ourselves whole-heartedly into this mission; which means quitting our jobs and not allowing other jobs and distractions to take away from the time we spend carrying out this task.  This is a huge leap of faith that God will provide financially…and continue to provide until His mission is complete.  If you would like to support us financially as a one time offering or on a monthly basis, please visit the donate page on this website.  The radio station is incorporated and approved for non-profit status.  All donations are tax deductible with a return receipt.  We thank you in advance for seeing our need, and meeting our need, as we follow God and reach the whole of the Netherlands with the gospel!
